On March 1, 2012 at 0743 hrs, Station 40 was alerted for a truck company assist for Station 49. First in Engine 49-2 reported heavy smoke in the attic. Crews made an aggressive attack and knocked down the fire quickly. Station 48 was assigned to ventilation on the charley roof division. Quint 40 laddered the roof and windows and established the RIT. Initially, Engine 40 stood by a second hydrant and sent crews to the scene. Later, Engine 40 provided the cover up at Station 49. No injuries were reported and the Red Cross was notified for the family. Thanks to all personnel for a very well-run operation.
