House Fire - Carpenter Bridge Rd., Frederica, DE

Frederica Fire Departments Chief Jerry Johnston stated that this fire started in a home located on Carpenter Bridge Road between Roesville and Fork Landing roads at 1013 hrs. A man living in the house noticed the fire in the back of the home when he entered the front door. He, five other people and the family pets were all able to escape without any injuries. The fire spread throughout the house very quickly causing the fire departments to close Carpenter Bridge Road for a few hours to all through traffic. Frederica Fire Department was assisted by Felton, Harrington, Bowers, Magnolia and Houston Volunteer Fire Departments. There were around 65 firefighters at the scene with no injuries reported. The fire was under control at 1136 hrs. No official release has been issued as to the cause of the fire yet.
