Rescue 40 Placed in Service - Station 40

On May 13, 2009 at 6:40 pm the Bowers Fire Company placed in service a 2008 Ferrara Rescue Pumper. This unit is powered by an Intruder 2 chassis with a 400 horsepower Cummings engine and 3000 series Allison automatic transmission. It is a 6 man cab, 5 seats are MSA seats with 6 spare MSA bottles. This unit carries 600 gallons of water and has a 2000 gallon per minute Hale Q-MAX pump. For fire suppression this unit is equipped with one 100 ft trash line, two 200 ft pre-connects of 1 3/4 in attack lines, one 200 ft 2 in blitz line, one rear pre-connect 1 1/2 200 ft. This unit also carries 1000 ft of 4 in LDH. This unit has assorted rescue tools such as various extrication tools from Hurst, assorted rams from Hurst, Rescue 42 struts, a 10 KW hydraulic generator, one 1000 watt brow light, 2 stationary scene lights, two removable tripod 1000 watt scene lights, and a 9000 pound Warn wench removable attachment for the front or rear of the truck with cribbing and airbags. It also has a stokes basket, backboard, other EMS essentials, and is AED equipped. This unit will be identified as Rescue 40.
