It is with deep regret that we announce the passing of one of our auxiliary members Jean Allen Vanaman who passed away February 14, 2010 at the age of 85. Jean was born in Philadelphia and graduated from Yeadon High School in 1944. She was a resident of Fair Acres Geriatric Center in Lima, Pa when she passed. She was a Past President of Leedom Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary, she was a Life Member with 58 years of service of the Bowers Ladies Auxiliary. She was also a member of the Bowers United Methodist Church, and the Frederica Senior Center. For over 40 years she was a leader and neighborhood chairperson for the Girl Scouts of America. Her husband of 57 years died in 2001 and she was survived by her son Ronald Vanaman of Media, PA, her daughter Judith Moore of Ridley Park, PA, 5 Grandchildren, and 9 Great-Grandchildren. Her services will be Friday February 19, 2010 at Lofland Funeral home in Milford from 9 to 11 am with services beginning at 11 am. Burial will be private due the weather conditions at the cemetery. the family will gather back at the station for a memorial luncheon. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to the Bowers Ladies Auxiliary, P.O. Box 224, Frederica, DE 19946.
