On Saturday, March 06, 2010, Rescue 40 with a crew of 5 stood by Christiana Fire Company Station 12 so their members and apparatus could attend the funeral services of Fire Inspector Brian P. Waynant Sr. of the Wilmington Fire Department. Inspector Waynant was also a member of the Christiana and Minquadale Fire Departments. While available in their district Rescue 40, under the command of Deputy Chief Willie Trowbridge, responded to a car fire in the area of Fire Station 6. Upon arrival, Deputy Trowbridge assumed command and after an assessment placed the alarm under control. Rescue 40 then returned to Fire Station 12 and remained there until released by a CFC officer. Our condolences go out to the Wilmington, Christiana, and Minquadale Fire Departments for their loss.
