BFC holds Annual Canoe Joust - Pennington's Pond - Bowers Beach

Today Bowers Fire Company held their Annual Canoe Joust held at Pennington's Pond. There were a total of 12 teams that were up to the challenge. Teams consisted of 3 members, one jousted while the other two tried to keep the canoe steady. Object of the game? Of course to knock your opponent into the pond or at least off the platform that is in the middle of the canoe. We awarded a Sportmanship medal which went to Dayvid Decker of Team "Redneck Mafia" for his outstanding spirit and determination. We awarded a Best Entry into the Water medal which went to Russell Caesar of "Team Wet Dream" for his dive into the pond after being knocked off his platform. Third Place went to Team Wet Dream, which consisted of: Rachel Seelye, Russell Caesar, and Adam Williams, Second Place went to Big Buc Signs, which consisted of: Reese Buchman, Ryan Sexton, and Mike Killen. Our winners and returning champion from last year were Three Stooges which consisted of: Bubba Feague, Wes Brady, and Mike Jones. A good time was had by all that attended. There were games, food, music, and entertainment thanks to all those who participated. A special thanks to all the members who volunteered their time today to make this event possible. Hope to see more of you next year so mark your calendars now for June 25th, 2011.
