On January 12, 2011 at 21:36 hours Station 40 along with Rescue and Ambulance 49, KM 7, and Trooper 2 were dispatched for an MVC rollover in the area of 1953 Bowers Beach Rd. Command 40 with Deputy Chief Willie Trowbridge responded and upon his arrival assumed Bowers Road Command. He found a 2002 Chevy Silverado pick-up overturned off the road with 2 male subjects still inside. The occupants extricated themselves and awaited the arrival of the BLS unit. A-40 with Rescue Capt. Adam Warner and part-time employee James Queen arrived and assumed patient care with the subjects originally refusing treatment. Rescue 40, under the Command of Safety Officer Tom Greek, arrived and were assigned to securing the vehicle and assisting with patient care. Engine 40 arrived and was assigned to lighting the area with the light tower. Rescue 49 and B-49 responded and were made available from the scene. Bowers Road Command Ordered the roadway be shut down to icy road conditions while everyone worked on scene. DSP arrived and convinced the occupants to seek medical attention at a hospital. Command placed the situation under control and A- 40 transported 2 patients to KGH. Fire police remained on scene at the request of DSP to keep the road closed until the vehicle was removed.
