At 10:11 hours, station 40 was dispatched for a small outside fire in the area of 8014 Bay Rd. Brush 40 responded under the direction of Captain Adam Warner with nothing evident in that area. Upon further investigation, Brush 40 went on scene with DP&L on the north end of Skeeter Neck Rd. DP&L workers had discovered the electrical hazard during routine maintenance. Stray limbs had made contact with the power lines resulting in the pole and surrounding trees catching fire. Brush 40 supplied a booster line as DP&L workers extinguished the pole and surrounding limbs via their bucket truck. Surrounding residence were without power for a short period of time but it was quickly restored. The situation was placed under control within a few minutes after the crew from Brush 40 suppressed remaining hot spots.
