10th District Fire Company brings their Fire Boat to Bowers - State Docks and Delaware Bay
Saturday, January 28, 2012
On January 27, 2012, the 10th District Fire Department with Chief Danny Hudson, and Chief Engineer Delaney Matthews, Memorial Fire Company with Deputy Chief Dan Walls, Marine Captain, Nate Weldon and several other members, Little Creek Fire Company with Chief Scott Bundek and Deputy Chief Ken Frasier, and the Bowers Fire Company with 12 members set out for a day of flow testing a 3500 GPM jet pump. They also tested the sea worthiness of the 10th District's new 29 foot fire boat. The jet pump proved worthy of producing 1125 GPM at 130 PSI with 500 feet of 4" LDH with a 2" pitot gauge installed on the monitor. The Viking 29' proved to be more than capable of providing fire flows and sea worthiness in our district. Many thanks go to 10th District Fire Department, Memorial Fire Department, Billy Baker from Delaware State Fire School, Chief Scott Bundek from Little Creek Fire Department, and our members for a great day of training.
