Station 40 Dispatched to a Working House Fire - 1796 Bowers Beach Road

On January 29, 2012, Station 40 was dispatched to a working house fire.  Command 40, Deputy Chief Jeff Morris, arrived on scene of a two story, single family, dwelling with heavy fire showing from the charlie delta side.  First in unit Tanker 40, under the direction of Buddy Jackson, laid a supply line up the driveway and attacked the fire from the charlie side.  Quint 40, under the direction of Rescue Captain Adam Warner, took the alpha side and advanced two hand lines to division one.  55-4, under the direction of Chief Stratton, also advanced one hand line to division two.  Due to the inaccessibility of the fire, crews were briefly backed out to allow Quint 40 to place a master stream in service.  A quick knock down was achieved and crews reentered the structure to suppress the remainder of the fire. Numerous units were called upon to establish a water shuttle.  Companies that responded to assist on this house fire were Stations 49, 55, 41, 42, 54, and 57.  A special thanks to Stations 48 and 54 for the cover up.  Thanks to all members who were involved.  This fire is under investigation by the Delaware State Fire Marshall's Office.
