Committee takes trip to check on FB-40 progress - Kensington, N.H.
Saturday, February 2, 2013
Five members of Station 40 took a two day trip to Kensington, New Hampshire and spent several hours thoroughly assessing Fire Boat 40. Many decisions were made as to where and how equipment would be stowed as well as how all dashes and over-head consoles would be laid out to provide the best functionality for safe operation. The final paint scheme was also approved to provide Fire Boat 40 with our nontraditional colors. As you can see from the pictures, all structural construction of the vessel is complete and Viking Welding is now fabricating numerous pieces and installing the fire suppression system to meet Bowers Fire Company specifications. The committee will be making another trip to Viking in about a month once the custom goose neck trailer is delivered from Great Lakes Trailers. At that point, final changes will be made prior to the boat leaving for paint.
