BFC extends deepest sympathies to Dover Fire Department

It is with heavy hearts that the Dover Fire Department announces the passing of Life Member Herb Abbott who answered his final call on March 25, 2013.
Mr. Abbott was born December 1, 1916 and joined the Dover Fire Department on July 1, 1937. He was a life member and during his 75 years of service, served as secretary and on a number of committees, including The 300th Anniversary of Volunteer Fire Service in the United States and the Refurbishing of Engine 8. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Army as a MSGT and serving in the National Guard.
Friends may call Friday March 29, 2013, from 5 to 8 p.m at the Trader Funeral Home, 12 Lotus Street, Dover, DE. Services will be held the following day at 12:00 noon at Dover Fire Department, 103 Governors Ave., Dover, DE. Burial will be at the Sharon Hill Memorial Park following the service with fireman's honors.
