Richard S. Hand, Sr., “Big Rich” of Little Creek, DE passed away Sunday, December 1, 2013 at Kent General Hospital in Dover, DE. He was 60.Mr. Hand was born October 27, 1953 in Dover, the son of the late Roy and Marian Hand.He spent his lifetime as a Commercial Waterman on the Delaware Bay. His passion was running the dredge boat. Big Rich was a Life Member and the current President of the Little Creek Fire Company, a position he held since 2000. He joined the department in 1969 and remained a prominent member. A viewing will be held on Friday December 6, 2013 at 1 pm in the Faries Funeral Chapel, 29 South Main Street Smyrna, DE. Funeral services will begin at 3 pm. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Little Creek Fire Company, PO Box 327, Little Creek, DE 19961 or to Little Creek United Methodist Church, Little Creek, DE 19961
