Thursday, November 7, 2013 The Community Fire Company of Perryville, Md is sad to announce that shortly after 11am, Fire Police Captain David Barr Sr. succumbed to injuries sustained after being struck on October 25th while performing traffic control duties on scene of a MVC. Barr was a retired 34-year firefighter and retired lieutenant from the Federal Fire Service at Perry Point Veterans Hospital and a 13-year member of the Community Fire Company of Perryville and a member of Water Witch Volunteer Fire Company. He is only the third fire company official to die in the line of duty in Cecil County history. Funeral arrangements are still being finalized at this time.
