BFC extends sincere sympathy to South Bowers Fire Company for their loss

South Bowers Fire Company announces that Past Chief David (Bryan) LeGates has answered his last alarm surrounded by his family on June 14, 2017. Past Chief LeGates joined the South Bowers Fire Company on December 5, 1972 and served as an active member for 45 years. Serving in various administrative positions and Fire Line Offices, he took the Office of Fire Chief in 1989 and served in that capacity for the next 25 years, stepping down in 2014. Past Chief LeGates was a vital asset to the South Bowers Fire Company, leading the apparatus committee in building the last eight pieces of apparatus the Company uses today. Services are as follows: Viewing Friday June 23rd from 6pm-8pm at the Berry/Short Funeral Home 119 NW Front Street Milford, DE 19963 with an additional viewing on Saturday June 24, followed by the funeral service starting at 1pm at the same location. Interment will be at the Slaughter Neck Cemetery in Argos Corner in Milford De. A full firefighter funeral will be held during this time. All companies wishing to provide apparatus, or participate in the honor guard service are welcome to do so. Parking for all large apparatus will be accommodated.
