On Monday March 11th, Station 40 hosted cold water rescue training. Instructors from the Delaware State Fire School instructed our members along with members of Station 57 on approaching and rescuing people in cold water as well as people trapped in ice. The training was conducted in one of the new retention ponds in Little Heaven. The water tempature was about 45 degrees. Personel donned cold water suits entered the water and had to retrieve a victim who may be unconcsious and hypothermic. Many thanks to the Delaware State Fire School and members of Station 57.
