Mayday Training
Monday, March 25, 2019
Mayday training was held at Station 40 to teach members how to call a mayday in the unlikely event of becoming trapped or entangled in a structure fire. The training was conducted by 2 instructors of the Delaware State Fire school and who are also Career Firefighters with the Washington DC Fire Department. Members were taught how to react to becoming trapped, lost or entangled. This included an obsticle course set up by the instructors. SCBA's were drained to 1500 PSI and had to elevate their heart rate by doing jumping jacks before starting. Many good lessons were learned. Thanks to the Delaware State Fire School instructors for their knowledge and also to Station 57, South Bowers for participating with us.
