Building Collapse Frenhies Dock

At about 17:35, Station 40 recieved a report of a structure collapse at 130 Murderkill Ave. Utility 40 responded and confirmed the building had collapsed into the river. Upon 40-15 responding he requested marine units from stations 54 and 57. 40-15 arrived and assumed command. He immediately advised kent center that 40-16 would assume operations. A request was made for DNREC, Code Enforcement, and the USCG. Afer noticing what appeared to be fuel and oil coming from the building, a request was made for Hazmat 57. Spill booms were put in place by the marine units to contain the spill. A webbing was made from 300' of rope to attempt to contain the objects from flowing out of the building. After everything was secured, the scene was turned over to DNREC and Code Enforcement. Units responding - Command 40, Rescue 40, 40-marines 2 and 3, Utility 40, Brush 40, Hazmat 57, Airboat 57, 57- marine-1, 54 marine-1, 54-marine-3, USCG station Fortesque, NJ, DNREC, Code Enforcement of Kent County.
