On January 23, 2017 Bowers Fire Company was dispatched for a working structure fire located at 54 Cross Lane. Crews arrived on scene from Station 40, 49, 55, KM10, FM28, and 54 for a standby.

Crews entered the structure to find a room and contents fire. The displaced family was one of our own members. She was assisted by Red Cross. The fire is under investigation by the Delaware State Fire Marshalls office. We are thankful that the home owner was not home at the time and no injuries were reported
