Lorraine was a Past President for the Bowers Ladies Auxiliary. During her many years of faithful service she paved the way for those ladies that would follow. She held every office on the board, served on most every committee, she held a Board of Directors seat for over 20 years, and also served as a delegate or alternate for convention many times. She wasn't afraid to switch from her apron to her bunker gear and jump aboard a fire truck to assist the men if needed. She also rode the ambulance and served as the first female Ambulance Captain in the State of Delaware. She was also a member of the first all female Fire Brigade.
